Mark & Michelle met as undergrads at Carnegie Mellon University in
2006. They both worked on a show together called One Night
in Beijing (catch Michelle's dance here), went on
spring break in Jamaica with friends, and ate out all over Pittsburgh.

As undergrads at CMU
After graduation they went on a Caribbean cruise where they
recorded the lively video below.
Michelle would continue school in Pittsburgh for another year, while
Mark took up a job in Chicago. So after dating for only a few months,
their relationship became long distance very quickly. Every month,
either Michelle would fly to Chicago, or Mark would return to Pittsburgh.

After graduating, Michelle would move to Ohio to continue her
studies. Eventually, Mark would take a job in New York as well.
Alas, they would be long distance for nearly four years. During this
time, they would go on frequent trips as a way of staying connected.

Mark proposed on a clear night this past May. The setting was a park
bench at sunset
in Newport, NJ, with a beautiful view of the
New York City skyline. It looked like this, with a bit more setting sun.
Mark presented Michelle with a scrapbook containing pictures, ticket
stubs, cartoons, and a whole lot of other mementos from the
last four years. It took a little while to go through this book, but by the
end, Michelle was convinced that there was enough evidence that this
was a good match.
